The American Mathematical Society (AMS) uses the TeX formatting language to typeset its publications. In addition, the AMS offers two TeX-related style file collections, AMS-LaTeX and AMS-TeX, which provide easy ways to code manuscripts that contain mathematical expressions. In an effort to shorten the time needed to publish articles and reduce the price of publications, the AMS has developed AMS-LaTeX and AMS-TeX author packages which include documentation and instructions, publication-specific style files, and examples. NOTE: These author packages do not include the underlying AMS-LaTeX or AMS-TeX collections, which must be obtained separately. AMSFonts may also be needed. Package contentsThe author package for each journal contains a README file, three documentation booklets, a template, a style file, and samples. Every journal has a specific author package that can be found starting from the journal's home page or from a list of all journals. Instructions for installing and printing files in a package are contained in the package's README file. NOTE: If you are installing both AMS-LaTeX and AMS-TeX files, install them in separate directories. They may contain identical filenames which will overwrite one another if they are in the same directory. Documentation bookletsDocumentation for author packages consists of three booklets:
These booklets are available separately, for either AMS-LaTeX or AMS-TeX PDF files for all three booklets are also included in every author package. |
